PLAYING GUIDE

Aim for a sustainable average

Ten arrows are available and 50 points completes the range. The rings score 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 from the centre outward; a miss scores zero. You need an average of five points per arrow, so consistent target hits are valuable even without a perfect centre shot.

Read the flight before adjusting

Angle changes the direction of launch and power changes its speed. Gravity and the displayed wind affect the arrow during flight. Hold one setting steady while changing the other so you can tell which adjustment corrected the miss.

Use the ring score as feedback

A flight that lands just outside the centre already provides useful information. Make a small correction rather than rebuilding the entire shot. If the arrow misses altogether, first establish a reliable hit on the target, then move inward.

A simple practice challenge

Play one round trying to avoid every zero, then another trying to improve the average ring score. Wait for an arrow to land before firing again. A restart can change the wind setup, so observe the current run instead of assuming the last run’s settings are universal.
